Know what you spend money on and where you spend it. Determine which areas can and should be trimmed back if necessary. Don't make any financial commitments that you don't understand or are not absolutely clear about. Don't take out loans or add additional credit obligations on to your balance sheet. And, if you have kids, don't keep them in the dark. They have ESP and know all is not well. Game-playing doesn't deal a fair hand. Emotional facts of divorce 1.
