I'M 25 AND I'M SCARED OF GETTING OLD

Nathalie: My mother sacrificed herself and I don't really know why. I decided that I don't want to live that kind of life.

Andrea: My mother had me when she was 19.

Eva: I am sure that, in 20 or 30 years, I will still like having fun and enjoy the same things as now...

Andrea: You say that because this is how mom is.

Eva: Not at all. I see a lot of women about 50 who dress like kids and are still party animals, except that society's judges them harshly. People say, "why is that old hag acting like a twenty-something?" I couldn't handle it if someone talked that way about me. But I don't want to become sensible.

Nathalie: I'd like to become sensible without effort, without noticing it, simply because I would feel or need to be like that. And be free to decide.

Naomi: But to say, "I must be sensible because of my age..."

Andrea: It will never come to my mind. I wouldn't mind being like my mother when I'm 50.

Eva: I mostly don't want to be like this little 45- or 50-year-old blonde toothpick who's drunk all the time.

Nathalie: What I find horrible are aging women who do everything to look younger. I'm disturbed by the Barbie-doll look with really full lips. To think of it, I prefer women who don't care at all.

Andrea: I prefer a woman who doesn't let herself go.

Naomi: No way! Women need to maintain themselves! Besides, a 50-year-old who lets herself go makes me feel uncomfortable.

Nathalie: To age well probably has to do with harmony between the mind and the body.
