    The revolution in hair

    O
ver the years, hairstyles have come a long way. The sixties were about the beehive. In the seventies, girls lay their hair on mom's ironing board and prayed that the iron didn't get too close to their cheeks. In the eighties, hair got a lift thanks to the punk influence. Teased manes reached as high as arms could extend. The nineties got all tangled up with curls and fresh new cuts thanks to new t.v.shows like Friends (hair salons across North America were probably tired of imitating the 'Rachel' look).

Now, in 2003, hair is beginning a new revolution in style. In fact, it's not about the cut so much, it's not even about curly or straight hair. Today, hairstyle is all about products and versatility. Women want to be able to go from a day look to an evening look with just a tousle of the fingertips. Who has the time to go back home and fiddle with your hair dryer trying to style something new.

For years, we've got it all wrong. We tried to find the perfect cut, the perfect colour, the perfect maneuvering of the wrist to get the style you want. Finally, I think we're starting to get it. To achieve the look you want you need to find a product that will help you get it. Blowing drying will straighten your hair but it will not get rid of the fly aways. Conditioning will help moisturize your hair, but it will not give you the shine a wax product can. And defusing will get you curls, but the right mouse will make sure the curls are still there by the time you get to your party.

Many hair product companies are catching on to this trend, releasing new products that promise to help you get the style you want.

Garnier is one of those companies helping to ignite the new revolution in hair styling. Garnier has launched its Fructis Style line that has many of the important qualities of the new hair revolution. It has style, versatility, a great fragrance, and is easy to use. Using the extracts of mango, orange, apricot, lemon, and kiwi, the products range from sprays, mousses, gels, and new products like gelly, milk, wax, and aqua styler.
