A rub down for your hair

Salons across the country have added a new experience to maintaining healthier and softer hair.

The traditional wash, cut, and dry has been transformed to a full-length 20 minute-scalp massage and hair treatment to precede the rest of your styling experience.

Selective salons across Canada have been introduced to the Kérastase Ritual. Equipped with the Kérastase products and trained by Kérastase specialists the Ritual begins with a five minute consultation with a stylist determining your hair type.

From this consultation the stylist will decide which of the products is best for the actual hair treatment. The products are designed for normal to slightly dry hair, dry hair, very dry or sensitized hair, weakened hair, and dry and rebellious hair. The treatment is left on the hair for about five minutes and then after that the customer is treated to a 20 minutes Tao massage. The massage concentrates on stimulating your energy points.

"It's very, very good," says Dean DelMonte, a stylist from the Adrienne Foley Spa in Toronto. "This is the only line I can see immediate results after the first shampoo."
