    Getting ready for prom

    L'Oréal Professionnel

Dress? Check. Shoes? Check. Hair? ... Have you decided what you will do with your hair? Now that you've got your outfit, it is important to choose a hairstyle that will complete the entire look. According to some of the hottest salons in Toronto, here are some of the popular styles for this year's Prom.

Remember this word: Multi-texture. This means straight hair, curls, crimped hair, braids, all in one hairstyle or in combination which each other.

"Up-dos always seem to be the biggest interest," says Frank Tripodi of Phases Hair Studio in Vaughan, Ont. But this year, the style is a bit different. "A lot of texture--straight up-dos and then crimp some pieces. There's multi-texture within the same look. It's mixing and matching, much like what you're seeing with fabric in fashion."

Celeste Paolella, of Headspins Hair Designs in Vaughan, Ont. agrees.

"The hair is very piecey, nothing very neat. Usually up-dos are nice and neat, now, you have a lot of criss-crossing in the hair and hair cascading down."

Karen Wallington, director of Pretty Eclectic Inc. in Toronto, says that this look has been evolving over the last little while.

"It's a slow transition," says Wallington. "We've been leaning towards that style for a while. Girls are starting to find they like things a little more crazy and a little more fun."
