Pure Womens Wear Autumn
/ Winter Season 2006 |
PURE WOMENS WEAR
Record number visit Pure to place orders
A record number of retailers came to Pure 12-14th February
2006 at Olympia, London, buying for autumn/winter as well as
selecting top ups for spring. Attendance to Pure was up 4% year
on year, proving that tough trading in retail was no match for
the irresistible lure of the 150 exciting new womenswear brands
at the show, and a whole floor packed with Pure’s largest ever
collection of accessories and footwear. With over 800 brands
on show, Pure presents the most comprehensive range of quality,
contemporary womenswear plus an in-depth insight to the trends
through the daily catwalks and trend presentations from Drapers.
The key to Pure’s success is its strict policy for quality
in its collections, from young creative lines to the directional,
designed to appeal to top-end boutiques and progressive retailers
who can be sure to find that something new and exciting. Independents
that visited Pure included Diverse, Subcouture, Pastiche, Psyche
and Sunday Best as well as the top department stores such as
Harvey Nichols, Harrods and House of Fraser.
Exhibitors were equally enthusiastic, such as Looking Glass
who debuted at Pure: “Amazing! We launched on Sunday and the
response has been great. All the buyers have been looking for
something different, slight vintage but fresh look. We have
opened accounts all over Britain, and loads from Ireland and
Spain, Italy and Denmark as well as interest from Japan, and
one of the major department stores”. Alan Strang from Chilli
Pepper, who regularly shows commented, "Pure manages to bring
many new buyers, which we find very interesting. Buyers are
coming to Pure to place orders in contrast to other shows where
they tend to just browse. There is nothing to compare with Pure.
Pure is a good place to see the European brands as well."
The strong transactional element of Pure was underlined by
the success of designer label Jean-Charles de Castelbajac new
to the show. Sales Manager, Elizabeth McHale commented: “Pure
has a good mix of clientele from the UK and abroad. We have
set up new accounts from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Italy and
have also met many new buyers that we haven't seen at other
shows. People come to do business at Pure.”
